Last month on a bright, sunny morning I was invited to attend a breakfast to launch the new Beulah London Spring/Summer 16 line. As you probably know I’m a big fan of ethical fashion brand Beulah and their pretty, ladylike designs and what better way to view the new collection than over a long, lazy Breakfast and a chat with some lovely ladies over eggs, avo and coffee!
The breakfast was held in the lush garden conservatory at The Ivy in London’s Kensington and was hosted in conjunction with luxury beachwear brand Heidi Klein. The event was well attended with guests including tv presenter and DJ Laura Whitmore, actress and style consultant Donna Air and model Sarah-Ann Macklin. I had the pleasure of being seated next to top fashion stylist Martha Ward and the very lovely Penny Klein from Heidi Klein. Upon discovering her to be a fellow Buckinghamshire resident and Mummy we found we had plenty to chat about aside from our love of great swimwear!
As always Beulah’s latest collection didn’t disappoint. Full of the most beautiful floral prints and silky fabrics there is something for every taste/shape. Founders Natasha Rufus-Isaacs and Lavinia Brennan have done a sterling job yet again and having just received investment after successfully completing their crowd-funding venture I’m super excited to see where they take this wonderful brand with a conscience.
For the event I chose to wear a stunning, off-the-shoulder, silk dress from the collection which had been block printed by women who have escaped the slavery trade. This is a brand with a very traceable production line and it’s wonderful to see how the clothes you are buying are so directly helping to release people from slavery. I adored wearing this super fine, silky dress and had so many compliments. It’s perfect for many summer events and also versatile as it looks great without the belt too making it perfect for lunch at the beach or a more relaxed, dressed down vibe. I’m also a complete convert to Heidi Klein swimwear having seen the quality and cut so will definitely be paying them a visit.
If breakfast is the new lunch I am more than happy to get on board with this new trend. Great food, fab company and beautiful dresses, all for a good cause and still home before midday!
