Diff'rent Strokes: The Complete Third Season (DVD)

Diff'rent Strokes | fashionablybalanced.com
Diff'rent Strokes took place in New York and centered around the happenings in the Drummond household. Philip Drummond was a widower and had a daughter, Kimberly. He was also quite wealthy and lived in the penthouse of a luxurious apartment building. His wealth was due to the fact that he was the president of Trans Allied, Inc. However, the household was shaken up when Drummond's black housekeeper died and her deathbed wish was that he would take care of her two sons, Arnold and Willis Jackson.

It's a must-have for every fan young and old alike who grew up with the series during its long run on NBC, and later on ABC. We see roughly a few changes to the show, only now the kids are starting to mature, but loveable little Arnold, played by the late Gary Coleman, is still the cutest one. Another noteable change was the new housekeeper Adelaide played by Nedra Volz, who actually joined the cast during the second season, but we see her more noteably as regular cast member in most of the third season episodes. It's not in three separate booklets in a box like it was before.

And while the show has languished of late in syndication in a heavily edited form, Columbia's first-season set amends that situation by packaging all 24 uncut episodes on a three-disc set with some interesting extras. Garrett all delivered solid performances, it was Coleman's charm, his timing, and most of all, his catch phrase "Whatchoo talkin' bout? Garrett to run a girls' school its pilot, "The Girls' School," is episode 24 on the third disc , and the McLean Stevenson program Hello, Larry , which followed Strokes on the network the two-part cross-over episodes are featured on disc 3.
