‘Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.’ – Coco Chanel
As a young child I remember spending hours on end scribbling fashion designs down on paper and I’m reliably informed by my parents that there was a period of a few years where I refused to go out wearing anything other than frilly party dresses. My love of fashion continued into primary school where I was forever trying to find ways of customising my uniform.
I wouldn’t say I have a signature style. The thing I love most about fashion is the ability to use it to express how you are feeling on that particular day and to explore different sides of your personality.
I see fashion as an art form and I love the confidence it can give people. I feel it is a very relevant part of this blog as the term “holistic” is about looking at the person as a whole, mind, body and spirit. After all, we’ve all heard the term “retail therapy”!

‘When I design and wonder what the point is, I think of someone having a bad time in their life. Maybe they are sad and they wake up and put on something I have made and it makes them feel just a bit better. So, in that sense, fashion is a little help in the life of a person. But only a little.’ – Miuccia Prada
